About us
In 1984 Jatinder Sagoo (Sonny to his friends) and Jonathan Pimley met as undergraduates at Newcastle University. They quickly became friends and flatmates and began what was to become a successful business partnership grounded in shared ideals of providing a superlative level of treatment and experience for dental patients.
This is their story.
After we both graduated in 1989 we both worked in other practices.
It was during a walking holiday in the Peak District that we decided to open our own practice.
In 1991, having decided Harrogate was a fine town to establish our practice in, we found Clover House’s existing building on Skipton Road. The building had been a dental practice since the 1950’s but needed extensive refurbishment.
As young men with new families and not much money, we set about doing most of the work ourselves. With the help of friends, walls were knocked down and plaster rendered as we swapped the dentists drill for a DIY drill!
Steadily though the practice too shape. Jonathan’s wife Margaret joined the team as an Associate and Clover House was open for business in 1992
In those days it was a NHS practice becoming a totally private practice in 1997. The surgery had a complete makeover in 2006 to become the bright, airy, attractive and welcoming place it is now. This time we got the builders in!
Standard of excellence
Throughout the 18 years Clover House has been opened, we have constantly striven to incorporate the latest and best technologies and skills. We see it as fundamental to our Duty of Care to all of our 4500 clients. All staff regular attend training courses both and in house and out. All are actively encouraged to study for further qualifications.
Sonny and Jonathan both spent time in Florida studying with Peter Dawson, a leading exponent of Complete Dentistry.
Clover House was one of the first dental practices to use Digital X Rays having introduced them over 7 years ago.
Clover House became fully computerised over 15 years ago, well before many other practices.
Our Ethos
It’s very simple: YOU as the client are paramount to us. Customer Care is not something we just pay lip service to. It is very important to us that we do things well. It’s probably because both of us are perfectionists!
The Future
As ever, we will continue to provide the very best service and treatment for our clients. We will continue to introduce new technologies as when they are available. Our training programme is ongoing.
We have spare space to develop within our building so we have the potential to take on more staff and offer even more services.
THE PATIENT JOURNEY
From the moment you book your first appointment with Clover House you can be assured of an excellent and thorough standard of service from your first appointment to after your treatment. We ensure from beginning to end that your Clover House experience is matchless.
Before you come to the surgery for the first time you will receive a Welcome Pack giving you all the information you need to know about your visit.
Your First Appointment
On your first appointment you will be welcomed by our highly experienced and friendly Reception Staff. They will note all the details of your medical and dental history. If you have any questions, our reception team will be able to help you.
Then you can have a few minutes to sit back and relax, read a magazine or watch TV before your consultation.
Your Consultation
Your first consultation should take approximately 40 minutes. During that time, our Clinician will establish exactly what your needs are, whether they are cosmetic or clinical. Any examinations or X Rays that are deemed necessary are also usually done during this first appointment.
You will then be given a full print out of your own Personal Itemised Treatment Plan.
Your appointments are then scheduled to suit you and you also have a further opportunity to discuss any issues about the treatment.
Aftercare
Whether your treatment has been cosmetic or clinical, we will ALWAYS give you a call a few days after to check that everything is all right. YOUR wellbeing and good health is paramount to us.
If you do need follow up care we can normally arrange an appointment within 24 hours.
Our Free Smile Analysis
Are you happy with your smile? At Clover House we can offer you a free Smile Analysis. We take a photograph of your mouth and teeth and prepare a short report on the areas that we think could be improved. It’s an your chance to see your smile as others see it.
